All 2X and 3X radios support the higher (+53VDC) max operating voltage. However, due to their higher current draw, the minimum input voltage that they require is slightly higher: +22.8VDC.

Has anyone tried powering their AFX with 48V or 48VH yet?

This sounds like a disaster on a tower waiting to happen:

All AF-5X radios with MAC address 04:186:E3:08:E9 or higher support input voltages 19VDC to 53VDC

But also explains why I didn't kill an AF5x when 48volts was accidentally applied to it.

Got some new AF5x's from supplier the other day.. They work fine on 48VH pulling around 10W
