1.3.8 epmp port setting?

Mon Nov 23, 2015 10:21 pm

I heard that on > 1.3.7 firmware there would be an update on what settings should be used to power an epmp radios? I'm just about to upgrade my DC switch firmware, so what port settings will I need and/or do I have to do anything to a standard CAT6 cable to make it work? We've had to swap power pins on other PoE boxes. We want to run GigE.

Please find that post as I am lost?

There is no way software can change hardware, the polarity PIN out remain the same.

However some Cambium Radios can be powered by our switches without special cabling but would mess up POE Smart which now POE Smart will not detect those radios as an incorrect short so you should now always turn POE smart on which you can find on the Ports Tab under the column PS

I probably misunderstood from this post:

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1177&p=8817&hilit=epmp+power#p8817

So as I understand if we just swap power pins on the cabling (or just use those little blue Cisco phone http://find-a-poe.com/product/WS-CS-RJ45-4x/ crossover adapters we bought which work on other PoE boxes) the 100M and GigE should work fine without changing anything else?

I don't know how it is possible to swap power pins with GigE.

Okay, well so what should we do (or is it possible) to get epmp's to run gigE through the DC switch? Big bummer if it's not possible, need gigabit. Will try blue crossover adapter tomorrow and see what I get.

ePMP GPS radio are 892.3af compatible so work fine with standard pinout. I have four of them on a tower powered via netonix.

ePMP without GPS have a 10/100 ethernet port and those can be powered by swaping blue and brown pairs on the ePMP side.

Anyway, why would somebody install à netonix on customer side ? For eForce 110 link, 2 GPS radio are recommended for best performance.
