sakita wrote:We have a need to use 100Mb SFPs. Do the SFP ports on the WS-12-250-AC support 100Mb modules? Has anyone tried any 100Mb SFPs?

I noticed one of the recent firmware release notes mentions correcting for modules that are incorrectly detected as 100Mb... so I'm hopeful :geek: .

:thumbsup: :hurray: Two WS-12-250-AC switches (Board Rev. D with 1.3.2 firmware) will run 100Mb fiber with Avago AFCT-5765ATPZ modules! Next onward to switch-to-switch testing to do with other brand switches...

Checked gigabit today: the WS-12-250-AC switches also work with Avago AFCT-5715APZ gigabit SFP modules. :cool:

The only question I had was why aren't there any LEDs for ports 13 / 14 so I can see if there is a connection without logging into the switch... found answer on another thread and commented on it :smile:

Have now edited this post to add any other modules I find that work in one post :D

This looks to me like the Mikrotik Module runs at 1000FDX default and ignores the command to switch to autonegotiation mode given by WS-12-250?

Retested with 1.3.3rc5. Autonegotion worked now with all modules I plugged in.
Flow Control is only negotiated with the same module on both sides.

@Netonix please show the autonegotiated FlowControl on the status page of the port.

Case 1:
Two WS-12-250-AC switches (with 1.3.2 firmware): uplink ports connection.
-Case 1.1
Two SFP TP-Link TL-SM311LS -> ok
-Case 1.2
One pair SFP TL-SM321A/B (bidirectional modules 1310/1550 nm) -> connection works fine but web interface shows a false 'no link'

Case 2a:
Two WS-24-400-A switches (with 1.3.2 firmware): Port24 connection
-Case 2a.1
Two SFP TP-Link TL-SM311LS -> ok

-Case 2a.2
One pair SFP TL-SM321A/B (bidirectional modules 1310/1550 nm) -> ok but only one light of link status is blinking. Web interface shows correct link.

Case 2b:
Two WS-24-400-A switches (with 1.3.2 firmware): uplink ports connection
-Case 2b.1
Two SFP TP-Link TL-SM311LS -> ok
-Case 2b.2
One pair SFP TL-SM321A/B (bidirectional modules 1310/1550 nm) -> connection works fine but web interface shows a false 'no link'
It's mandatory to use 2 fiber SFP modules in uplink ports, to avoid false 'no links' in web interfaces
Case 1.2 and 2b.2 are equals

Thanks for the post.

We know we have further work to do on the SFP stacks.

We had a new routine to handle the SFP stacks but was removed before we published v1.3.3 because it had too many bugs.

We plan to release a new SFP control/configuration module for the next firmware release which will be called v1.3.5.

You might ask why we skipped v1.3.4 but we have not, v1.3.4 was used in a hybrid release that is being used to flash the current DC switch model batch scheduled to start shipping later today.

v1.3.4 will not be released to the public and only available as a pre-flash on this production run.

Look for v1.3.5 to be released possibly by end of this week.

Cisco GLC-LH-SM

We would love to see DOM on the SFP ports somebody!

EB-Link J4858A/B/C (knock off of HP product) works fine,
Finisar ftlf9519p2bnl works fine
Had to switch from gig to auto to get it to work, this is just like HP,
I really like not having to stock a whole other set of gbic's

Mikrotik S-85DLC05D modules are also working here.
FTRJ8519P1BNL-J2 modules are also working, these are actually finisar modules. Mine are branded Juniper

Would love DOM support too :thumbsup:

Works fine:

Ciena XCVR-A10Y31
MikroTik S-31DLC20D
Netgear AGM732F-R

Does not work:

Tested on WS-12-250-DC with firmware 1.3.8. All links auto negotiate at 1000 with flow control.
