Why not use PON products instead of AON ? Sharing the fiber to multiple users seem the way to go with down side of beeing harder to update since every user on the same PON must use the same technology and limited to the slowest device.

For cheap AON, I think TP-Link 12 SFP port work fine even if those are a little more complex to concernant at first than Netonix. The 12 SFP model are 200 or 300$ if I remember well. We used them on a camping for our multiple AP. 4Mb memory cache like netonix if I remember well. Lot of feature but bad GUI design.

30 units to start with...

I have bought the PLANET MGSW-28240F switch to start with. I know it's only 24 ports (not enough for 30 units), but it's only for test for now.

And I bought cheap single mode 1 Gbit/s SFPs from China.


All in all around $150 per subscriber including fibercable (without labor)
