Not sure if this is the right place...

We would really like to have the ability to shut down and turn up ports based on time.

When we are in rainy season we have solar deficit and we currently power down our switches based on voltage. If we could shut down selected ports say at 1 am and power back at 6 am, it would allow us to save much needed power.

Obviously you are not running the latest version as that option is already in v1.3.3 for the WS-8-250-DC and WS-12-250-DC.

ENHANCEMENTS in v1.3.3
- Added reboot after resetting to defaults in CLI
- Added timed shutdown periods for PoE on DC models
- Improved VLAN tab UI
- Added Flow Control indicator to Link column on Status tab
- Added email notifications for LACP port status changes

Can you help me understand how to configure the shutdown?

I tried and could not get it to work.

First I tried it with the voltage down up parameters in place

Then I deleted the voltage down/up parameters and set shutdown for 12:20pm and startup time for 12:25pm

Nothing happened?

Do you have the switch setup to get the correct time from an NTP server?

If the switch does not have the correct time it will NOT act on any of those time conditions.

I tried it again and works ok

Perhaps I did not have enough time between shutdown periods?

I set the port to shutdown at 1am and come back at 6am

For some reason it decided to shut them down at 14:29???

There was a bug parsing the start and stop times. Basically it saw 06:00, which is 6am, as 6pm.

This will be fixed in 1.3.5.
