Single managed or seen as two?
Will this Tower Switch be managed as a single entity or will it just be two switches with a fibre link? I assume some sort on IDU/ODU where IDU is the base and ODU is the topside.

Re: Single managed or seen as two?
OK, thanks.
I'm guessing that if you decide to go ahead with the Tower Switch Mini, that it and the base WISP Switch will be seen as two. I'm OK with that since that is how it would be with TOUGHswitches now.

That is still being debated.
We think the Master switch will at least have a quick link to the sub switches but we may make it allow configuration within the master.

Re: Single managed or seen as two?
at one of my sites I have an rb493g and 2 toughswitches. I'm using QinQ to bring ports from the toughswitches to the rb493g so that I can manage those ports from the 'tik. I really like the idea of having the tower switch(s) seamlessly managed from the main switch.
just my $.02

I was going on the premise of beggars can't be choosers and that there is no seamless management with TS cascaded, but hey, if there was seamless management, that would set it a few notches above for sure!
I really liked being able to centrally manage and monitor a bunch of HP ProCurve switches with PCM+. All the other switches were managed individually either through CL or text based menus.
