Routerboard 1100AHx2

I have several RB1100AHx2 deployed. I would like to power this with a WISP switch.
The router datasheet says 12 - 25 watts max. Under normal operation they use 13 watts.
I think this would be pushing the limits of a 2 pair 24v port.
The router does not accept power on all 4 pairs.
I thought of using UBNT instant 802.3 af and power from a 4 pair port, but the UBNT product is rated < 13 watts.

What options do I have to power this router?
Any ideas?

Shouldn't the 24v ports be rated at 18 watts?
24*.75 = 18 watts?

edit.. wait some of the older switches are .5 amps right? or only 12 watts.. hmm.

Yes but the newer models and the MINI are .75 amps.

I don't know for sure so will leave it to Chris or Dave to answer that. I do know with the MINI, the prototype used SMT but the final design was through-hole due to it not being fan cooled. It is built tough to take the heat.

If using an OLDER Rev board A-C just use a port capable of 48VH (Ports 1-2 on B models and 1-4 on A Models) and if you select 24C you still have .75A

LOAD THE NEW FIRMWARE AND UNDER THE PORTS TAB WHEN YOU SELECT POE IT TELLS YOU THE RATING OF THAT PORT!!! - LOL

Also since we have this COOL ability to monitor POE watts I think you will find it uses less than it claims. Also look at the 1 hour POE Watts graph as it will show you the average which is more important than spikes as a .5A Polyfuse can spike above .5A without tripping as it is rated to handle .5A CONSTANT draw and Polyfuses get warmer under constant load not little tiny spikes.

The WS-6-MINI and WS-12-250-AC use all .75A Polyfuses as well as all newer REV D A and B models.

Could you post the polyfuse part #s of the REV A, B, C, and D please?
Rev A, B, C used the same part, Rev D used a larger one?

Look it is simple.

All WS-6-MINI, WS-8-250-AC, WS-12-250-AC have .75A on all ports

All WS-12-250X and WS-24-400X RevD boards support .75A on all ports

ALL switches support .75A on ports capable of 48VH so even if you have a RevB board you ports capable of powering that device

No one has RevA boards except my WISP

If you load the latest firmware v1.2.2 the firmware tells you the watt rating on each port when you configure the POE for each port.

We have only been shipping RevD boards for at least 3 months so I doubt there are any RevB or C boards out there but even if there are I have been running my WISP on all RevA and RevB boards and I have FULLY loaded switch just look at how loaded my average tower is.

Remember the Poly Fuse is rated at a "CONSTANT" draw of 12 watts all day long at 50C+

You will be fine but if you do have an older Rev and you are nervous just power the board in a port that is capable of 48VH and that is always a .75A when doing just standard 24V or 48V single pair.
Hell there are people out there powering AF5X on older RevB boards on standard 24V .5A ports. Personally I would plug it in one of the ports that has .75A capacity.
REMEMBER ALL SWITCHES EVEN THE OLDEST RevA HAVE 2 TO 4 PORTS WITH .75A CAPACITY.
