My wish list:

1) Independent WLAN0, LAN0, and LAN1 interfaces.
2) Bridge mode or Router mode with PPPoE option supporting MTU=1500 .
3) At least 2x2 mimo.
4) Native GUI (instead of trying to manage a stupid cloud based GUI behind the primary rooftop CPE.
5) Optional Traffic Shaping on each interface.
6) SNMP read access.
7) unobtrusive wall or ceiling mount.
8) POE "client" option to power it
9) Minimum 23dBm output.
10) DHCP reservations
11) Low brightness LEDs (it is for indoor after all)
12) Silent switching power regulator.

Higher priced "HP" model
1) POE "server" to power other boxes
2) ???

Just figured I would get the ball rolling.

1) Check
2) Check
3) Check
4) Check
5) Check
6) Check

7) Not meant for ceiling, this is not a UniFi type device maybe you should read more about it. http://www.netonix.com/cap-fxs-1.html
Think of the airROUTER but with a software controlled POE WAN port, MIMO 2X2, high power, optional FXS port, and a lot more software option.

8) It is meant to power client radio on the roof not be powered by POE

9) Check
10) Check

11) well this is relative to individual interpretation I guess

12) Check

Hope this helps?

Chris, this will be awesome!

I am looking at voip and didn't want to compound the mess in the customer house.

Will this device also be able to turn off the WiFi if the customer has their own router?

Thanks,

Jim

Well yea but I would discourage my customers from using another AP, too many headaches. :nono:

Plus we plan to customize this UI as time goes on to better assist the WISP in many faucets.

I do encourage that. And explain that interference is a real problem that they can create themselves.

I am excited about this product. Good luck!

We do not have the resources right now, and we want to concentrate in things WISP's all need.

Remember the idea of this unit is to POE power your UBNT CPE radio and optional FXS port.

It has a 5ft AC power cord and 4 port switch in it.

Why do you want to mount this on the wall?

Atheros 2x2 MIMO 2.4 GHz only
HP - High Power
Integrated power supply built into chassis, no more Ethernet and power cables for homeowner to screw up.
Software enabled POE WAN port to drive radio on roof.
WAN port has blue line around it and included with each AP is a Blue Ethernet connector boot to make it simple for homeowner to know where to plug the wire from the radio on the roof.
4 port 10/100 switch
Based on Open WRT
Optional FXS port for those WISP that want to provide VOIP

HP MIMO 2x2 AP with POE WAN port MSRP $69.95
HP MIMO 2x2 AP with POE WAN port and FXS port MSRP $79.95

I really like where your going with these products Chris and I'm ready to start using/testing them! Seems your making everything that I WISHED that UBNT would've done. The AirRouter-HP was a JOKE, making a POE client instead of POE output!!! Who the heck is really using that for everyday installations??? We need POE output to power the radio!!

The AirGateway-LR is also becoming a joke. We deploy 50 of them per month and there are issues with a station linking up at only 6.5/6.5 and dragging down the whole AP until reboot. Also the range is a JOKE, the external antenna helps, but the TX output is only 18db still. So now we're using Air-Router HP everywhere, and having to use 2 POE's is so confusing for the customers!!

One concern. You mention you make the POE output BLUE so that it matches your radio cable, I'm sorry but most customer LAN cables are blue as well. Can you make the port outlined in WHITE and include a WHITE boot, or something not so standard?? Cause now they'll have blue LAN cables going to computers, and also blue boot on the CPE cable, I don't think that will help at all. Using a WHITE, GRAY, or something else would be much better!
