Hi all!
I can really recommend the switches from Netonix. Great switches.
I'm located in Denmark (https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=cr&ei=0O7kVO2yH467Pc67gUg&fg=1#q=Denmark). A small country with only 5.5 millions habitants but well known for companies like Maersk, Lego, Carlsberg ( ) etc. Also well known for the story teller Hans Christian Andersen and other people like Victor Borge, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Game of Thrones), Bjarke Ingels (architect) and of course Danish pastry
As a WISP I have network at 2 different locations in Denmark. I use only UBNT equipment (Do have 2 set of LigoWave though) and has always bought the TOUGHswitches as they can power the equipment and I can remote power off the equipment, which can be handy as I live around 200 Km away from each of the networks.
Unfortunately as you all probably knows there has been issues with the TOUGHswitches. They have a strange behaviour that results in downstream speed being reduced to half of what upstream is. For me that is very bad. I deliver minimum 25 Mbps downstream to customers, but they usually get around 30-40 Mbps (I have to compete against fiber and LTE (4G)).
So something had to be done. I could swap all my TOUGHswitches to Cisco, HP or whatever. I could convert the 802.3af PoE to 24 V UBNT PoE with Instant 802.3af adapters.
All in all a not so good solution (and expensive), so I was very happy when Chris (Sirhc) announced the WS-8-250-AC switch. It was the right size for me and price is acceptable (a little expensive though as airfreight is very expensive from US to Europe)
I immediately ordered a couple and last week I received them :-)
Before installing them in production environment I had to play with them and of course get familiar with them. I must say I'm not disappointed at all :-)
Yesterday I swapped the TOUGHswitch Pro 8 port with my new Netonix WS-8-250-AC switch at the fiber location at one of my networks. Today I have got a lot of response from my customers. What have you done etc. The Internet is running at full speed
It's a very nice and easy GUI the switch have. One feature I like very much is the ability to test your cables. I found 2 faulty cables I have to redo. Also the 2 screws so I can mount the switch is a very nice detail.
I can only complain about one thing and that's the missing management port like the one on the TOUGHswitch, but hey I get over it. The switch has so much other to offer!
But instead of looking at pictures I think you should go order some of the great Netonix switches yourself :-)
Happy switching!

Re: Recommended product! WS-8-250-AC
Chris,
I'm really looking forward to next week
I plan a large roll out of the switches to several sites. Especially the swap from 2 TOUGHswitches to 1 Netonix WS-12-250-AC at my fiber location will be great, because I can power the AirFiber 24 I have at this location and getting rid of the PoE adapter.....

Looking at the first pic, I cannot help but wonder why you waited so long for the 8 port when it looks like the original 12 port would have fit in the cabinet?

Re: Recommended product! WS-8-250-AC
I can understand why you wonder :-)
Except for this exactly location all my enclosures are pretty small. At first I didn't have the TOUGHswitch half download / full upload problem here at this location, but after connecting more customers to this site it appeared.
I have bought a 12 port 19" rack switch for my other sites fiber location as I have a 19" rackenclosure there....
I will post picture of small enclosure with WS-8-250-AC switch when swapped.
Also to consider was the freight cost. I had to order several switches at ones to lower shipping cost per device.

Re: Recommended product! WS-8-250-AC
I unfortunately didn't have the time to swap out my TOUGHswitches with the WS-8-250-AC switches. Hope to get some time next week.
I managed to install my WS-12-250B switch at my fiber location.
As you can see it's busy!
I really like that it can power my AF24 at this site.
Finally got rid of the annoying PoE brick.
It was quite a strugle to fit it inside my enclosure. Not much room left. Had to loosen the UPS. It was to heavy to mount again (it's in the bottom of the enclosure). I'm using the TOUGHswitches as management only now. Everything connected to them is 1 Gbps.

Thanks for posting.
Odd that you chose to use the top screw when it is the bottom screw that holds most of the weight.

Both screws are installed (all 4). Picture was taken before I installed the other 2 :-)

Re: Recommended product! WS-8-250-AC
Just found out that I have a lot of errors on port 1 (My AF24 is connected to that port).
Cable has been tested and is tested OK.
Anyone knows why ?
