I just unpacked my first switch, a WS-12-250A received from Streakwave a few days ago.
According to the documentation: http://store.netonix.com/media/wysiwyg/ws-specsheet.pdf the default login is "netonix" and "netonix" but that didn't work.
By trial and error I stumbled on "admin" and "admin" which did work.
Searching on "default login" in the Forums the only thing I see is a review http://forum.netonix.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=225&p=759&hilit=default+login#p759
which includes the comment: (note the default
username is "netonix" not "admin")
exactly the opposite of what I found.
So what's the story? Did I receive an early unit that's been sitting on the shelf at Streakwave for many months?
In any event, if anyone else has this problem, hopefully they'll stumble on this post.
Default login: admin or netonix?

Re: Default login: admin or netonix?
Hello,
Thanks you for purchasing the switch, we really appreciate your support!
Sorry for the confusion but the PDF was made along time ago and users (like you) wanted it to be "admin" "admin" as default so we listened and changed it and I have yet to update the PDF.
HOWEVER when you opened the box the switch came in there was this piece of paper (see below) laying on top of the switch!

PLEASE read the paper and update the firmware ASAP as the firmware shipped has bugs! You can download the newest firmware here:
v1.0.8 is pretty stable and we are now working on improving SMTP alerts and Log entries but you can see our planned firmware road map here:

Yes, the paper you describe was in the box. Sorry about that.
It was loaded with 1.05rc2. I've updated to 1.0.8.
Thanks!

That tells you the birth date and confirms it is not NOS.

Well it had to made on or after 11/13/2013 which means it is less than 1 month old. I have eaten bread older than that!
