DC Versions of WISP Switch

There is NO 12V DC version of the WISP Switch
There is NO 24V DC version of the WISP Switch
There is NO 36V DC version of the WISP Switch
There is NO 48V DC version of the WISP Switch

We only have ONE DC version of the WISP Switch which is "SMART" DC

This means it does not care what DC voltage you feed into it so long as it is between 9V DC and 60V DC!!!!

This means if you hooked it to a 48V DC battery bank it would run that battery bank all the way down to 9V DC before it shut off unless you told the software a DC input voltage to stop at.

This mean you can tell it to shut down at what ever voltage you wanted down to 9V DC

You will also be able to set a switch input voltage to shut down POE for each POE configured port that way it starts shutting down less critical links to conserve power.

You will also be able to configure SMTP alerts based on input voltage and current levels going into the switch.

The DC switch models that will be released:

WS-8-250M-DC (about the same size as a ToughSwitch PRO)
(8) 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports all capable of 24V and 48V POE
Ports 1-2 also capable of 48VH for powering airFIBER / SAF / EXALT

WS-12-250M-DC (about the same size as a ToughSwitch PRO)
(2) SFP Up link ports
(12) 10/100/1000 Ethernet ports all capable of 24V and 48V POE
Ports 1-4 also capable of 48VH for powering airFIBER / SAF / EXALT

WS-12-250A-DC

WS-12-250B-DC

We have not yet decided about the 24/26 or 48/52 port versions

Will the WS-12-250M-DC be rack mountable? You say size of a TS PRO, but that would make it non-rack-mountable... but coming from you I think I know better :) Just thought that point might be useful to explain.

I think I am pretty clear above that there are FOUR DC versions

(2) MINI about the size of TS8 one is an 8 port with no SFP modules and a 12+2 port with (2) SFP up link modules

Then the existing WS-12-250A and WS-12-250B models that are AC and rack mountable will also be in a DC version that would still be rack mountable

You were... I guess the lack of details under the two full size models through me for a loop.

So if the WS-12-250M-DC is about the size of a TS-PRO... could two of them be mounted in a TS-PRO RF ARMOR mount to make a 24 port DC switch? Just thinking outside the box here.

I think Chris would need to make a new rack mount kit. Keep in mind that the warm air exhausting from one will be sucked into the other unless Chris builds some sort of baffles to divert it.

Well we need to sell quite a bit more AC versions to pay for parts for a production run of DC versions!

I sure hope not everybody is waiting or we may all be waiting a LONG time!

Hmmmm... I don't suppose it would be possible to sell a drop in replacement power supply for the switches as opposed to an entirely new switch?
