TX Errors

Thu Dec 08, 2016 6:13 pm

We have over 60 DC 12-Port WS in use across our network and have noticed lately that about 10 of them are showing large numbers of errors on all active ports on the status tab. The Port Detail shows the same number of errors under TX drops, and a much higher number for RX drops, does anyone know what would be causing this?

Well, do you have WS-12-250-DC or WS-12-DC

What firmware version are you running, if not v1.4.6 then please upgrade them.

My first guess would be cabling.

But if they are installed on AM, FM, or TV Broadcast towers it could be interference with the Ethernet cables.

Could also be ground current interferring with Ethernet communications, read this post: viewtopic.php?f=30&t=1816

Here are some other good posts on grounding:

Ethernet cabling running near electrical wires or fluorescent lights?
