Did you try another module on both ends incase one module is bad?

Also try a differnt jumper cable.

You may need to use a differnt brand module.

Yeah, I've tried different modules and cables.
Think we'll need to just try a different brand.
Is there any you recommend as working ok across the switch range?

read up through this thread for other users reports

personally I have never found one I purchased not to work

I just buy Cisco compatible cheapies from net like Amazon and NewEgg

I ended up buying from FS.com. If you buy generic they ask you what equipment you use. I told them Netonix, UBNT and some other stuff. Those SPF's works fine in every device from those listed....

Mikrotik S-85DLC05D SFP Module

Hi All,


Netonix Switches WS12-250-DC – Firm. Version 1.4.4

I’m trying to connect two Netonix switch with a couple of Mikrotik S-85DLC05D but it seems not work. Can someone tell me if these modules are compatiple ?

In the log file there are many lines of resetting and restarting port N.14 where I connect the spf module.

Can anyone help me ?

I moved your post into this thread which is what this thread is for. Read up through this thread.

Beyond that take note under the ports Tab you can change port to 1G or Auto which you have to match to the far side device. Some SFP modules work eith one or the other setting but they have to match both sides of link.
Support is handled on the Forums not in Emails and PMs.

The question is that when I put the module into switch, I saw lot of line like these:

Dec 31 19:19:06 SFP: FAULT on SFP 0, resetting...
Dec 31 19:19:07 SFP: FAULT on SFP 0, resetting...
Dec 31 19:19:08 SFP: FAULT on SFP 0, resetting...
Dec 31 19:19:09 SFP: FAULT on SFP 0, resetting...
Dec 31 19:19:10 SFP: FAULT on SFP 0, resetting...
Dec 31 19:19:11 SFP: FAULT on SFP 0, resetting...
Dec 31 19:19:12 SFP: FAULT on SFP 0, resetting...
Dec 31 19:19:13 SFP: FAULT on SFP 0, resetting...
Dec 31 19:19:14 SFP: FAULT on SFP 0, resetting...

before to connect fiber cable

Any idea ?

What firmware version are you using?

I would at least try v1.4.5rc2 - RELEASE NOTES BELOW

Anytime changes to SFP support are made you should always try it even if it does not mention your specific module.

Beyond that ask Eric to help (The programmer) or use a module others report as working from the many listed above in this thread.
