Received an email this afternoon that the fan was failing on one of my Wisp Switches. The status looks like this:
I've used up all my spare switches, and all the distributors are out of them. Is there anything I can do to help this switch last until stock is available? It's close to 100 degrees today, and is supposed to be that way for the next week at least.
Thanks
Sam

Re: Fan Woes Again
Try upgrading the firmware, but you may have a fan failing for real.
PLEASE UPGRADE TO v1.4.2
There have been fixes to these false fan alerts.
Try loosening the 2 fan screws a quarter turn and see if that fixes it.
People have reported that loosening the fan screws frees the fan as sometimes they were installed too tight and when it gets real warm the metal expands and twists the fan if the screws are too tight.

Hi Chris,
I'll give that a try. I'm heading over there this morning (it's about three hours from me), and will take a screwdriver along with me to see if that'll fix it. And I'll order a couple of fans too just in case. Thank you for the quick reply and suggestions!

Re: Fan Woes Again
Chris, I'm glad you mentioned the too-tightly-wound screw as a possible source of the problem. As soon as I loosened the screw about 1/4 turn the fan started turning, and has been fine ever since. Now if I can just come up with a way to do that step remotely... :)
