Working on fixes for these known issues
Current fixes we are working on:
Somewhere along the line we changed the way we are bringing up the SFP ports as there are three ways to bring up our SFP modules:
- Copper Only
- Fiber Only
- Auto - Either Copper or Fiber
It might end up that the problem is with the Auto mode we are using which if we abandon might require the user to configure which type of SFP support they want in the UI? This appears to only affect the WS-24-400A models on ports 21-24 whereas they are only supporting Copper SFP modules.
UI support for MAC Laptops Safari and Chrome
Better UI support for IE11 & FireFox
A better way to deselect a port and get Total throughput/Current. Currently you click anywhere other than the ports rows like in the boarder areas outside the Tab area to deselect a port but people would also like to either have a button or maybe click the selected port line again. They felt it was not intuitive for new users. - VALID POINT!
These are some other suggestions that we felt were good and are on the road map:
Ability to rename and renumber the default VLAN - Currently 1 and Default
Better logging
Web portal login
IPV6 support
Ability to assign an IP address to either each port or each VLAN for administration access to switch.

v1.0.2rc4
FIXES
- Fixed gear background color in IE
- Set MAC address earlier in the boot process.
- Made fans quieter under normal operating temperatures.
- Made SMTP test more reliable.
- You can now deselect a port by clicking on it again.
- use a reasonable date when generating the SSL certificate
Prior to this version SSL certificates were generated with a date stamp of 1969.
If you wish to clear those certificates you can set a proper date and time on the switch via NTP under the Device/Config Tab, console into the switch, then run this command at the Linux console: openssl req -new -x509 -keyout /etc/config/lighttpd.pem -out /etc/config/lighttpd.pem -days 3650 -nodes -subj "/"
Remember when you console into the switch you are first landed on our CLI and you have to type "cmd" and press enter to drop to the linux shell. After you are done type "exit" and press return to return to the CLI and then type "exit" and press enter again to exit the console.
Supported and tested browsers (latest versions, as of Nov 3, 2014):
Chrome on Windows, Linux, Mac OS - MAC OS may require you to reset the SSL Certificates as mentioned above.
Firefox on Windows, Linux, Mac OS
Internet Explorer on Windows
Safari on Mac OS
We had wanted to release with this firmware upgrade the ability to not disturb the switch core at all under most circumstances when performing a firmware upgrade but it did not make it into this release, probably next release?
Currently if you already have v1.0.2rc3 we do not power off the POE ports after the firmware upgrade during the OS reboot and your tower is only down less than 20 seconds, most times less than this depending on what features the switch core is using.
I have not yet had time to test this version just hot in from our programmer but I will be installing it shortly.

v1.0.4
There were some BUGS with v1.0.3 - SORRY but they should be fixed now!
There were no apparent bugs if v1.0.3 was installed on WS-12-250A or WS-12-250A.
If you installed v1.0.3 on WS-24-400A then inserted an SFP module in ports 21, 22, 23, 24 then the built in ports 21, 22, 23, 24 became disabled even if SFP module removed.
If you installed v1.0.3 on WS-24-400B then ports 21, 22, 23, 24 became disabled
FIXES
- fix MTU issue on SFP ports - And this is an important BUG fix which may be the cause of several peoples issues with SFP modules and VLANs.
CONFIRMED to have fixed Adam's (iggy) issue
- fix for dual media ports when removing SFP module model WS-24-400A ports 21, 22, 23, 24
