WISP Switch and Hikvision cameras

Tue Feb 09, 2016 12:39 am

Hi Everybody,

I'm a new WISPSwitch owner (WS-12-250-DC).

It was bought to run some Mikrotik/Rotherboard based radios (point to point links) and wireless access points at a hilltop comms site.
I've also been toying with moving some of the sites Hikvision networks cameras over to the WISPSwitch and off their individual power injectors.
The HikVision camera literatute state they support 802.3af power over Ethernet... but the WISPSwitch does not support this standard.

Has anyone in here determined yea or nay if HikVision cameras can be powered by a WISPSwitch?
Regards,

Lunokhod

If the camera is 802.3af it "should" work with 48V "passive" POE but you should consult our PDF on polarity PIN outs and their documentation to confirm they are the same.

Our 48V is:
Pin 4, 5 Positive
Pin 7, 8 Negative

48VH puts power on all 8 pins so be careful before using this option.

You guys should make a post in the thread that lists products that work and do not work

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1215

List the model # and POE option that works, including a small picture of the device is nice as well.

Next time it might be you looking to see if a particular device works or not.

Thanks for the information. The next time I visit the comms site I'll do some tests with the IP cameras that are there and see how I go.

I'll update the thread that lists products that work (or not) when I get them working. I understand that the WISPSwitch is more oriented to running wireless gear.

Lunokhod.
