First Switch

Wed Jan 13, 2016 2:20 am

Just remotely setup the 8 port DC unit.

It's awesome. This could sell outside the WISP market. Nice UI, lots of cool little extras (was not expecting the built in terminal emulator).

One client I'm working with will need a few more, another client I could see this replacing a few spots with a pile of injectors.

Nice job!

You flat out cannot beat the Netonix switch, especially the DC models. They've worked so well for us, and these DC units on solar sites just do work!

Setting up a WS-6-Mini today.

1 PowerBeam M5, 1 Rocket 5 ac-PTMP

I'm not even at the office - I had them plug everything together and then did some ssh port forwarding to get to the web UIs. Change Mini's IP, turn on PB port, change it's IP, turn on Rocket port, change it's IP. Awesome. And if I screw up a config, I have remote power capability. I know that's kind of a "duh" with PoE switches, but I'm used to 110V gear in a rack with a remote PDU and all that mess. The costs involved here are so much lower.

Again, nice job.
