I'm compelled to agree - the Tycon devices are absolute JUNK!
We mostly use these larger units:
http://tycononline.com/tp-bc48-300-48v- ... regulated/8 have already died on us (less than a year), and Tycon would not refund our money.
They did sent us new units, which are sitting on a shelf, as I'll never re-install these on our network.
Using low-cost Meanwell power supplies does much better and at a much lower cost.
(Ok - no LVD - so what?).
The 24V model dies less frequently, but did die on us as well.
We replaced these with amazing little chargers - big saving:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0051WHAU0We had the displeasure of using other Tycon devices... it's all junk...
Networked power-monitors - junk (and horrible design, not to mention the software which is 80-ies like). But not many options out there (except for the new Netonix switches).
Wind turbine - junk...
