Tycon Battery Backups?

Has anyone used the Tycon battery backup units with the WS Mini? If so is it working OK? I was looking at the 24 and 48 volt units to use with the 12-250DCs but just realized they run at 30Watts (which might be the limit of the charger?) and the switch potentially pulls more than that at times.

The first year I blow up over 10 Tycon charge controllers TP-SCPOE-24xx-HP. I have replaced them with meanwell charge controller AD-155B and have been very reliable for me and other WISP’s http://www.meanwell.com/mw_search/AD-15 ... 5-spec.pdf

Well that is good to know. I am in the process of building our first one of these ourselves to test with the Tycoon. Will go ahead with the test but will get a different controller right away!

I'm compelled to agree - the Tycon devices are absolute JUNK!
We mostly use these larger units:

8 have already died on us (less than a year), and Tycon would not refund our money.
They did sent us new units, which are sitting on a shelf, as I'll never re-install these on our network.
Using low-cost Meanwell power supplies does much better and at a much lower cost.
(Ok - no LVD - so what?).

The 24V model dies less frequently, but did die on us as well.
We replaced these with amazing little chargers - big saving:

We had the displeasure of using other Tycon devices... it's all junk...
Networked power-monitors - junk (and horrible design, not to mention the software which is 80-ies like). But not many options out there (except for the new Netonix switches).
Wind turbine - junk...
