Hi
Wondering how people are setting up there mini-6 but still limiting the customers bandwidth on a micro-pop?
Basically the customer radio is turning into a backhaul for the switch and using the LAN side of the POE brick.
Can I limit the network side without affecting other customers? @thehox looking at your setup.

Well if you are using a MINI say up on the roof and a wire runs into the house and plugs into an airFIBER 50V 1.2A POE Brick and then you plug the customers AP (Network) into the WAN port of the POE Brick then you can limit the customer the MINI POP is at by limiting the Bandwidth to Port 1 in the switch since we allow Bandwidth limiting on every port.
See picture below. I know the picture below is a WS-12-250-AC UI but that is the beauty of all our switches, they all use the same switch core and firmware so they all have the same features. Hell you can create LAGs and complex VLANs with a MINI same as the WS-24-400A

My only concern is limiting port 1 won't limit the overall performance of the link then correct?
So if other users are connecting to a radio from say port 3 then they won't be limited back to the backhaul link that is port 1 correct?

No it will only affect traffic on Port 1
EXAMPLE:
Port 1 goes into the building below to get POE power and supply the resident of that building with internet
Port 2 goes to a backhaul radio
Port 3 goes to AP1
Port 4 goes to AP2
Port 5 goes to AP3
You would limit the residence speed by placing a bandwidth limit on port 1 which would only affect their traffic.

We use powercode and their BMU to limit at the headend/data center so I grab the customers router mac address and put it in powercode and the bmu applies limits to the IP assigned to that mac and their account. :)

Also could I run the mini of a tycon TP-SCPOE 2424 from the back connectors using a

Will the regular TP-SCPOE 2424 work which is 30w or there is a 2424HP WHICH IS 60w.

The MINI requires 48V to power it.

Illinois.
I know it requires 48v but the device I linked takes 24v and ups it to 50v. It's for the airfiber to run on battery from tycon.
So would that work?

THe MINI requires 48V, I do not know what else you want me to say.
It is not designed to run on less than 48V.
Technically it will power up at about 37V but it
is designed to run off of 48V.
