External ethernet box or ground

We have a lot of towers and a lot of Netonix switches. We ground everything to spec like Netonix suggested and this usually keeps us covered. However, water is still a problem. I would like to install something like a ETH-SP on the tower leg for each ethernet cable. This would allow a barrier between the cable run to the AP and the Netonix switch. We have really fought to keep POE switches on the self during the component shortage and cannot afford to lose one to a damn Ubiquiti or Shereen cable run with water intrusion.
What are others doing? I don't think the Netonix will like going into a ETH-SP if i recall. Obviously we could used them ungrounded. But I would not mind a extra layer of protection on the ethernet cables.

My guess is that the ETH-SP might clamp all pairs together during a surge event and not just shunt the overvoltage to ground so the primary argument that Chris maintains about shorting PoE power would still apply.

If you use a surge protector you also need to use something to protect the Netonix from a clamped surge protector or it will damage the connected port.
I use these
https://www.mccowntech.com/product-category/poe-fuse/I use these for surge protectors
https://www.mccowntech.com/product/outd ... protector/I purchase both through Streakwave
They must be connected in this order: Netonix - PoE Fuse - Surge Protector - Radio

I was looking specifically at the 800-GigE-TWR-J-HV but figured the ETH-SP was probably more popular. I did not know about the inline fuse, did not even know such a thing existed. Now I am stoked. Not sure where to put the fuse however so it doesn't short on other fuses or items in the control box.

If I have room, I use the rack mount version with one of these
https://www.mccowntech.com/product/4-sl ... rotectors/https://www.apc.com/us/en/product/PRM24 ... kmount-1u/For the inline, it ends up like this
- Netonix with 800-POE-FUSE
