Good Day,

Would it be possible to support the PTP 650 kit from Cambium?

The voltage / pin out as we have seen so far is 55V 1.11A, positive on the blue and green pairs and negative on the orange and brown pairs (using the standard B layout of OW,O,GW,B,BW,G,BW,B).

We can try a crazy cable but the voltage is a question atm.

No, sorry, the Cambium radios use a different pin out.

I am not sure it would work to just swap the pairs to get the polarity right although it might if it is an Auto-MDX port?

BE CAREFUL NOT TO FRY YOUR RADIO OR SWITCH PORT IF YOU TRY THIS!!!!

We are "considering" making an adapter for Cambium radios.

I know swapping pair work with ePMP but not sure I would test on a PTP650 :yikes:

Well WISPER plugged a PTP650 into a 48VH port with a normal cable and turned it on.......twice. I was on the phone with them when they did the second one.

Both times the switch rebooted but nothing got damaged thank god.

DO NOT TRY IT!!!

:agree: At least we didn't let any smoke out. :)

PTP650 is supposed to be 802.3at compatible, PTP600 is not

Hmm, ok. I wouldn't expect the normal cable to work as the pin out is wrong.

We use the 650s extensively and we were hoping to use the netonix to reduce the number of adapters but we can get away with just putting an IP PDU if its just for the backhauls.

We most likely will end up using the CMM4 for the Cambium EPMP, but you are saying it will work with the netonix? Where does the sync come from?

Yes, that particular link was in fact a PTP600.

PTP650 should work with Netonix, PTP600 not. Epmp APs are 802.3af compatible so they should also work, no problem. GPS sync you get it via the gps receiver on each AP no need for sync over power
