Peek inside the WS-12-250-DC
Well here is the inside of a pre-production WS-12-250-DC
It will accept anywhere from 9V to 60V DC and auto step up or down to power a DC site.
You can program the switch to shut off less important ports when power become low and turn them back on when power is restored to your configured levels.
You can also program the switch to go into hibernation when power drops to a specified level and then power up when it detects the batteries are charging and they reach your predetermined levels per port.
If you have a remote site that uses a power hungry radio like an AF25 with a lower power backup link it can power down the AF24 when site reserve power gets too low and switch to the lower power consumption backup link until more reserves are available. you can also have it power off high power consumption links during off peak times. We will eventually add the ability for the switch to monitor capacity needs and only power up power hungry links like AF24 when capacity is needed and then shut them off automatically when demand drops and switchover to backup links.
We also plan to give you the ability to have backup links powered off until needed.

Are you referring to the reversed key on the connectors?
You have to admit though that the WS-12-250-AC and WS-12-250-DC is a work of art with us (mostly Dave and Robert) getting that much switch in such a small package!
