Powering Security Cameras

Has anyone here had any success powering POE 48v security cameras using a netonix switch?
We have some that normally run off 12v but I was thinking about tidying up the wiring at the customer site by using the netonix that is already there. They advertise 48v POE input on the ethernet cable, or 12v via the barrel connector.

A lot of people use our switches to power security cameras.

Just be careful - there is a BIG difference between 48V and 48VH
The latter lets magic smoke out if the device isn't designed for it.

Awesome, thanks I'll give it a go.
I was worried that one of the official POE formats that the cameras use might be incompatible with the passive POE of the netonix.

48V work fine with 802.11af and 802.11at devices.

Always verify the pinout of your particular camera.
For example, some Axis P60 series cameras are different.
Be sure because the magic smoke isn't easily replaced
