So these new Gen2 Prism radios seem to be made of metal or aluminum and wondering if it may be too hot for the RF Armor? Are people using them with no problems or leaving off the radio cover or drilling holes?

The latest RF Armor that is designed to fit them and the AFX radios is fine.
