WS-12 (AC-DC) rev f+

Any chance of getting these units with 1-4 24VH again? I went online to order some more units for site upgrades and I am glad I read the page. These sites have 2-3 AFX's and long cat5 runs. I guess I could place ws6's topside but it becomes another point of failure.

Anyone think this is an issue?

We still ship rev. E by default, since we still have them in stock at the warehouse. Point of fact, one has to request rev F. (or maybe it's the other way around?) but to answer your question, the switches you're looking for are still available for purchase.

Only a few early production runs are limited to 24V. Can yours not run at 48VH?

I suppose in a pinch you could use the outdoor Instant AF gig adapter topside.

WHY ON EARTH ARE YOU POWERING AFX RADIOS WITH 24V or 24VH.
ALL AFX RADIOS NOW SUPPORT 48V as well as 24V

The AF5X and ALL AFX radios can be powered by:
24V up to 160 feet +/- of cable < Least prefered method
48V up to 200 feet +/- of cable < Better method
24VH up to 326 feet +/- of cable < Even better method
48VH up to 326 feet +/- of cable < Preferred method

THE REASON IS SOME OF US OWN A BUNCH OF EARLY UNITS AS WELL AS HAVE RECEIVED UNITS THAT DON'T TAKE 48V. I LOST (3) UNITS IN THIS FASHION AND THIS HAS BEEN CONFIRMED. OF COURSE THE VENDOR DOES NOT CLEARLY MARK REV.

SOMETIMES YOU CANT REMEMBER THE MAC ADDRESS OF THE RADIO ON A TOWER TO KNOW IF IT TAKES 48V ASWELL

As in the graphic below you simply use the MAC address of the AFX radio to determine if it will support 48V or not, simple.

Only the very first batch made way back in the beginning will not support 48V.

All units shipping for over a year are capable of 48V.

But also if the cable is less than 180 feet 24V is fine to power it.

I think there are approximately 2048+/- older AF5X units out there that do not support 48V.
All AF2X, AF3X, AF11X all support 24V and 48V

And those units you can safely power with 24V up to about 180 feet +/-
