Is it possible to plug the Mimosa G2 into a Netonix 6 mini without causing problems due to the 48v output. The goal is to plug in a Mimosa G2, A5 and C5.

you can power all MIMOSA links with 48V or 48VH if availble

I need to make this more clear or you are missing the part about the G2. I understand the powering question, the problem is that the G2 PoE port has to be plugged into the WS-6 and it has 48v on it. Is that a problem? Is there a port or a different switch that can use that combination?

Your saying that the wire coming from the G2 and plugging into the WS has POE already on it?

So the WS is NOT powering the G2?

Where is the G2 getting power from?

How many watts is this wire from the G2 able to provide?

How many pairs does the G2 supply POE on to the WS and what polarity per pair/pin.

What will the WS-6 need to power via POE if any?

Maybe a diagram, something legible you draw in MS Paint or something.

I doubt the G2 could power the MINI if the MINI is also powering other kit. The spec sheet doesn't say how many watts it can put out, only:

Power Over Ethernet (PoE) Out - 48V PoE on WAN port for Mimosa C5 devices

Haha, I'm just not making my point but I do appreciate the effort. I'm not trying to power the WS-6 mini with the G2. I'll try again.

Description - A5 on roof, C5 on roof used as backhaul to the A5. The C5 could be a B5-lite or any other backhaul radio. Both powered by the WS-6. Inside the house, I want to use a G2 as the router. That has to be plugged into the WS-6 to connect to the C5 backhaul radio for the homeowner to have internet. The problem is that the WS6 would have to be connected to the WS-6 using the PoE port on the G2. The WS-6 already has a 48v Power supply on it. The G2 would be feeding power back into the WS-6 which I don't want it to do and their is now way to turn off the PoE function on the G2. My alternative is to put an AirRouter inside so that I don't have PoE feeding back to the WS-6. The problem is that the A5 keeps going offline.

Cambium have routers that seem nice, N and AC with FXS ports (optinal on AC line), and with or witouth PoE output. Those can be menage cloud via CNMeastro.

Until Netonix CAPs ready, that seem a nice solution.

I didn't try those much since where more working on FTTH than wireless right now but that seem a good option.

Why not put the WS-6 MINI on the Roof in a Tycon box then run a single wire into the house and power the WS-6-MINI with an AF24 POE brick supplying power to the WS-6-MINI via POE IN on its port 1 and then plug the customers wireless router in to the AF24 POE brick on the LAN side.

Then the WS-6-MINI can power up to 5 radios on the roof

Similar to below:

Okay, we are way, way off on this guys. I'll try and get back on track.

I have a WS-6 mini with a 48v power supply running a C5 and an A6. My question is this, can I plug in an indoor wireless router that happens to have a PoE port on the WAN side without damaging the WS-6? It seems to be rebooting the switch and the A6 keeps going offline.

As for that box, I already have it on the side of the wall on a shaded side. If I put that box on a roof in Phoenix, you could cook hamburgers on it. We have to use fans in all our boxes in Phoenix or they hit 160-180 degrees.

No you can not send POE power into the WS-6-MINI except as POE on port 1 using 48V all 4 pair.

And you can not power the WS-6-MINI with both the barrel and POE IN.

I hope you have not damaged the switch attempting this?
