AP rebooting

Wed Aug 24, 2016 1:00 pm

We just upgraded a switch from a ws-10-250-ac to a WS-12-250-AC so we could add two more ap's. Once we powered it on the new ap's would be accessible for about ten seconds then they would begin to power cycle. The original 6 access points would not but the two additional would. Does this mean that the two are pulling too many watts for the switch? We are running all rocketm5's. The settings are identical in the two switches so we know it is not a configuration issue. We can plug seven of the eight into the ws-10 and all work fine. We removed the 12 port switch and installed another brand new one with the same issues. We then took one of the 12 ports that would not work and placed it in another tower site and only put 4 rocketm5's on it and it is performing great. Please help our next option is to stack switches if necessary to get more access points powered on, or run poe's but we do not want to do that.

No, your not using too much power.

I have a WS-12-250-AC that is powering 4 AF24 radios and a couple Rocket M5
This is not advisable as that load is more than 80% of power supply rating and you never want to drive a power supply above 80% all the time as it will decrease its lifespan - MTBF

Chances are one of the new radios is bad.

Also upgrade to v1.4.3rc7 as there have been some nasty bugs fixed recently.

Ok I will upgrade the firmware. We have changed the radios as that is what we though originally, but the problem persisted. I will go up to 1.4.3 from 1.4.2 and let you know.
Thanks for the response.

Maybe put up a screen grab of the Status and Device/Status Tab
