Mimosa B11 compatible?

I'm considering using the WS-12-250-DC to power Mimosa B11. Has anyone tried this yet? It claims to be 802.3 compatible, as is/are the B5 series.

No and won' try it I really don't expect much of the B11 when I look at the specs.

I have been told you can power the B11 with 48VH

Well, we should find out shortly I hope as several people are installing them, I am hoping some report back here what they discover!

Other 11 Ghz radio have <better efficiency. When you pay a license fee for a frequency, you normally want the best efficiency for evrey mhz, not the cheepest available radio of the market. AF could be a containder if the eventually have licensed model but I wouldn't choose a up converted ac radio for that kind of link .

ehhh, depends.
Let's say you have a high end customer that wants 100 Mbps dedicated link and you do not want the chance for interference or you have no FREE spectrum left.
Buying a more expensive licensed link would make no sense in this application if the desired capacity can be handled by the less expensive alternative. You still get all the benefits of CLEAN spectrum, no chance of being knocked off pissing off a high value customer.
Same applies for WISP backhauls. If the B11 is capable of more bandwidth then you need but you simply need a link that will be stable and interference free then it would be fine.
It all depends on how much bandwidth is needed and how well these links preform which is yet to be discovered.
The AFX series of radios fall into the same criticism for adapting to licensed radios that you project against the B11, the only contender would be a true Full Duplex AF11.
And we have already learned that UBNT disruptive pricing is only in effect when there is competition.
Exhibit A:
AF5X cost $400 <== This was priced to compete with or kill MIMOSA if possible
AF2X cost $500 <== Not really any more expensive to build than the AF5X but has no competition
AF3X cost $800 <== Slightly more to build than an AF5X but has no competition
Exhibit B:
AF24 cost $1500 <== Has competition from other vendors thus the GREAT PRICING and I DO LOVE THIS RADIO!
AF5 cost $1000 <== Actually on par or possibly a little more to build than an AF24 but was priced to compete against other vendors.
AF24HD cost $3000 <== Less than $100 more to build than an AF24 but has no competition if you want 1G FD
So if UBNT actually does adapt the AF line to 11 GHz better be glad the B11 exists or you may pay much more for it if the B11 did not exist.... just saying!
