Bi Directional SFPs and Wispswitches

We now have about 30 or 40 of netonix switches in various forms. To date we have been unable to get an sfp that will work with single fibre (bi directional). They work fine with 2 fibre sfps. We are using mainly TP Link equipment and always single mode fibre. The bi directional sfps we have tried are tp link 1310nm and 1550nm
Anyone have any experience or feedback on this?

If you want to send me several different models you would like support for I can see what we can do.

You would need to supply 2 of each model and a patch cable that way Eric can see what he can do.

I assume you have tried firmware v1.3.8 and or v1.3.9rc7 as they provided greater compatibility for SFP module with the ability to select 1G ot Auto under the ports tab.

Some SFP modules work if forced to 1G some work if set to Auto. You also have to play with the setting on the other devices and find which work.

I haven't been able to get the switches working with single strand fiber SFP modules either.

I need to try 1.3.9 but I haven't got around to that yet.

I have something that looks like this:

We use Maxxwave and those work fine. If you use TP-Link to RJ45 adapter, have you try to force the link to 1G instead of auto-negociation ?

Hi Mike,

THanks for letting us know you found a model of single fiber SFP that works, could you list the exact model #s for people, maybe a link to purchase.

It would also be nice to create a post in the compatible SFP thread if you get a moment.

Once again thanks for reporting!
