Basically, we have a number of sites with primary and secondary dishes - the secondaries are switched off as 'cold spares'. We had our first 80+ mph gale last night, and one of the dishes got blown off the wall. (Well, basically, the bolts holding the bracket got ripped out of a sheet steel siding).
So a ping-watchdog that was able to reconfigure - switch on and off ports - or run a script - would be very useful (till I can find the time to roll out a pure OSPF solution. Yes, I'm lazy).
Cheers,

Re: Can the ping watchdog run a script?
Your requesting a reverse ping watch dog I think?
I will discuss with guys but why don't you simply use RSTP?
