I do not believe this to be true Daniel Jackson?

Why do you believe the Rocket AC or any airMAX AC radio requires or even accepts power on all 4 pair?

Can you provide proof of this assertion and or self proclaimed fact you state to be true?

Now I am no "Rocket Scientist" :rofl4: but these were the steps that I went through to come to my conclusion:

Step 1) I download the PDF for the Rocket 5 AC Lite.

Step 2) I actually read the PDF looking for POE specs.

And this is what I found:

I understand your confusion now....NOT :ak:

Even easier Confusious - just look at the POE that comes with the unit :P
I did that but it was a quick glance - my mistake. Either way, because I only have 1 link using the AC units I am not very familiar with them so I felt it was best to confirm with you.

Hello.

Unifi UAP Outdoor5 is not working, on cable test it give me 4,5 and 7,8 in short (as normal UBNT rocket M or other) but do not give me any link at all.
In the Unifi DataSheet it states that is powered by 24V 1Amp, i suppose that the Netnonix can not deliver this or i do not know what happens here.

Sorry, i am moron and forget that my unifi is the UAP Outdoor +, sorry for the bothering.

This is basically an airMAX radio with UniFi software. uses standard 24V POE option - NOT 48V, NOT 48VH, and NOT 24VH

You may have a bad cable or bad radio?

Do a cable diagnostic on the port with no cable, you should get all opens?

Turn POE OFF on the port and verify the port connects to your laptop OK.

Try another known GOOD radio in that port.

Yup, you guessed it: https://dl.ubnt.com/datasheets/unifi/UniFi_AP_DS.pdf - page 14

Power Supply 48V, 0.5A PoE Adapter (Included)

That would be 48V NOT 48VH

48VH will let magic smoke out

Fri Apr 21, 2017 3:22 am

Hi there,

Does anyone know if there is a way of powering a PTP800 from any of the netonix range switches?

Kind regards

Steff
