Re: DC Switch ETA
I dont mind paying a little more for 2pcs of the test batch of the WS12-250-DCs now, untill you get the final price! ;)
If that means we can get them very soon! :p
Id really love to try these on a link with AirFibers I am going to put up soon! But the ends are DC sites, so I need a good DC POE switch!

Efficiency
The table below is incomplete meaning not all variables have been accounted for such as thermal as that testing is ongoing this weekend.
Once the power supply has been tested this information has to be incorporated into the firmware to protect the unit from the user trying to drive it to hard or to hot.
The one thing that impresses us is Dave was able to achieve 150 watts all the way down to 9V, now this information has not yet taken into consideration environmental temperature which Dave is working on this now and this weekend.
All this data has to then be entered into the firmware as mentioned which will happen next week.
(15) of the SMART DC power supplies for the WS-12-250-DC are on their way to me now from Toronto, I should receive them Tuesday. Then they will need to be assembled, flashed and boxed for shipment. We are still waiting on the decals and gift boxes which should arrive middle of next week. The chassis and switch boards are already here.
(100) of the DUMB chassis are do here today maybe, the switch boards are already here. The decals and gift boxes should be here middle of next week along with the needed cables.
So, with all of this said we are pushing HARD to get these out there. The first release of the firmware which will have to be v1.3.0rcX as these models are NOT capable of using v1.2.X since that firmware does not have any clue what those models are.
The WS-12-250-DC units are designed for 24V and 48V sites. If you are running a 12V site the efficiency SUCKS and the capacity is reduced.
But if you have an off grid site that NEEDS to stay up it can all the way down to 9V DC input all the while powering 24V and 48V devices.
You can see that your efficiency stays above 90% which is pretty damn good all the way down to 17V at 250W load.
Keep in mind that the average AC power supply efficiency is 90%-95% efficient.

Re: DC Switch ETA
I was talking to Dave this morning who was hard at work doing thermal testing in the hot box chamber at 55C operating environment and things look GREAT "so far"!

Re: DC Switch ETA
I hope you guys like the prices, we have worked REAL hard to achieve this price point.
I am about to open up the "PRE-ORDER" of the DC switches.
They will be on a first come first serve basis when the quantity gets to 0 it will tell you that it will be backordered past the schedules listed below.
Shipping Schedules:
WS-12-DC *Expects conditioned 48V +/- DC input* - 95 units will start shipping on Monday August 3rd.
WS-12-250-DC *SMART DC 9-60V DC input* - 15 units will ship on Monday August 3rd.
WS-12-250-DC *SMART DC 9-60V DC input* - 80 units will ship on Monday August 17th.
WS-8-250-DC *SMART DC 9-60V DC input* - 50 units will ship on Monday August 17th.
Once we get feedback from you guys we will order a real production run but that will be 4-6 weeks past
The first (15) WS-12-250-DC will be divvied out evenly, Examples below:
If only 3 people order 5 each they all get 5.
If 20 people all order 3 each then the first 15 people each get 1 from the first batch and the rest are back ordered until the August 17th shipment.
Same thing goes for the WS-12-DC, they will be divvied out evenly.
I am setting the quantity on hand to match what is expected in total by August 17th so if it tells you the items are backordered you may be waiting awhile.
