If I offered a version that was not "smart" DC, meaning you just had DC terminal posts and it expected 45-53V DC input but would function as follows would you want it?

45 to 53 Vdc = everything worked fine
28 to 44 Vdc = The switched disabled 48V POE option in UI but switch and 24Vdc POE worked fine.
54 to 60 Vdc = The switch works fine but 48V POE is disabled in UI but 24V POE works.
12 to 27 Vdc = Switched worked but all POE was disabled

Less than 12 Vdc switch is non functional at all
Greater than 60V dc = white smoke comes out of chassis.
Reverse polarity = white smoke comes out of chassis.

Reverse polarity = white smoke comes out of chassis.

A cheap relay circuit could handle this for ~$.50

Greater than 60V dc = white smoke comes out of chassis.

a crowbar circuit w/ a fuse is pretty cheap and easy, the fuse socket is probably 1/2 the cost.

If it's just leads/terminal screws, then I think an over-voltage circuit and polarity sensing circuit are a must.

Hi Chris - I know you've been busy... any update on ETA of the DC powered switch?

Obviously we have been beating our heads against the wall to fix the AC version for release.

With this effort winding down we will have more time to devote to it.

We plan to have one available this year to purchase, MAYBE as soon as end of November.

For my needs, SMART DC would be preferred as I'll either have 12v or MAYBE 24v at a select few sites.

Are we still on track for a late October / early November DC release? Or did that get pushed back?
