I see on the netonix ports for 48VH it has a 72W rating, what will happen (if anything) if I leave it consuming 80W? these test radios have been like this for a week now so far no issues, but am I on a ticking timer that will eventually burn up the switch?

it won't burn up the switch...but a lot will depend on the environment it has to run in, and what the adjacent port is using for power, as we have two ports per transformer...you are drawing about 0.75 amps per pair, so the ethernet transformer is going to get warm for sure.
if it is air conditioned room, I think you are okay, if in a room not being kept cool ya is pushing it....
