Hi All,
Have searched all the post for this but don’t think anyone has brought this up. Really want a smtp email warning sent out when a STP root changes from one port to another. The log shows this and the stp cost value changes but there’s no option to allow this as a smtp warning.
This would really help to quickly identify when backup radio links are being used at the primary link instead of the usually root.
Is there any way to do this or can it be added to next firmware upgrade?
Regards
Jock

Re: SMTP email alerts
Notifications can be significantly improved. I also think of energy consumption on individual ports (and total), up / down events (in the current firmware comes a change of 1G-> 100M, but not vice versa), CPU/RAM/FS usage, exceeding a certain traffic limit for some time.
But it would be necessary to be able to configure it a lot in detail, because the network administrator's congestion usually has the opposite effect - ignoring.
Alerting also requires reliable e-mail sending. That is, the ability to define multiple SMTP servers.
However, most larger networks use a surveillance system, so they don't need these features. So in my opinion, it is better to focus on the reliability of the switch itself and leave it up to later.

Re: SMTP email alerts
There has been some, a lot of the feature's I was working on had to come to a halt to fix the temp sensor issue (see 1.5.3 release notes for details).
Expect this on an rc release in the future.

Re: SMTP email alerts
That's the plan, several feature's request's/bug's had to be put on hold due to some MA issue's. But it appears we're past that now so I'm getting back on it as we speak.
