Camera Install

Sat Apr 23, 2016 2:34 pm

Hi,
I am working on a security camera project and was looking to use Netonix switches to power the cameras and Nanostations. The cameras have a barrel connector and require 12VDC with a max of 40W. Each building will have two cameras, one Nanostation, and has 110VAC available.
Questions:
1. What switch would work well for this?
2. Would anyone know of a POE splitter that would be compatible with the POE standard that Netonix switches use and that would handle enough wattage to power each camera?

Thanks!

Probably would pay dearly for off-the-shelf so you would be best off to home-brew your own. Use 48V PoE at the switch, then a plain Jane passive PoE picker and convert the 48V to 12V at the camera end.
