Ubiquiti clearly think you're eating their lunch and have finally released a competing product:

However, I for one won't touch anything from Ubiquiti for at least three months, and wait for the howls on the forums to die down before even considering one. I went through too much pain with Toughswitches to consider switching back to them.

Re: Congratulations!
How can you consider that a competing product? No WISP in their right mind would run kit that needs the UniFi controller to manage it. If they come out with a ES-8, then maybe I could consider it possibly competing.

Re: Congratulations!
The UBNT UNIFI switch will not power airFIBER radios our does.
Ours has a console port which I personally would want.
Ours has active fan cooling to prolong the life of the switch in these often small and under cooled hot boxes we WISPs shove equipment into.
Personally I think the UNIFI switch is more for Enterprise. In an Enterprise environment the UNFI switch is awesome!

Re: Congratulations!
Wow. Switches that rely on the UNIFY controller? Hell no. That shonky POS blew our network off, so we switched our wifi hotspots onto another service (Cucumber Tony) and haven't looked back.
Ubiquiti software appears to be cursed.
I'm still waiting for the winner of the race - AirControl or The Dude -- actually getting to a released version. I've been waiting three years so far...
