PORT SFP

Quelle distance max ?
Quel plug fibre choisir ?? on parle de casquette bleu ????

On m’a aussi parlé un port SFP+ ??? C’est quoi ???

Merci

I see you posted to stories section but I'm sure Chris will move it. Perhaps you missed where it says do not post questions?

Fiber SFP comes in Single Mode and Multi Mode versions. MM is limited to about 0.5KM while SM can go many KM.

SFP+ is 10 gig.

As Les stated the SFP port is just a receiver for an SFP module.

How far you can go with fiber has nothing to do with the switch or the SFP port but rather the type of Fiber SFP module you plug into it.

Think of an SFP slot as an expansion slot in a computer as it is not a question of what the slot can do so much as which type of expansion card you put in it.

A rough analogy of SFP and SFP+ might be the difference between an ISA expansion slot verses a PCI expansion slot in a computer. The PCI slot can communicate much more and faster than an ISA slot can.
