11Ghz?

Anyone running AF11X or Mimosa B11? We are looking to move off 5Ghz (AF5X, AF5) primary backhauls.

I was desapointed by Mimosa B11. I would not expect a -89 noise floor on a 11 Ghz link O.o Probably a AC upconverter, just as I expected by the spec, affected by 5 Ghz noise (lot of noise on 5 Ghz on the tested tower). Won't go over 64 QAM.

I will soon try the AF11x instead. Must swap radio to test this but not a priority right now. We're busy with all canadian subvention going on for fiber.

Please post results. We are very apprehensive about the af11x because of numerous issues with ports on af5x , and have heard people be underwhelmed with the b11.

We have to run the B11 if FDD mode and it gets half the capacity of a true FDD radio like the AF11Fx. I was very disappointed to find this after we purchased the link, it's only a matter of time before we pull the B11 and put the AF11Fx in place. MCS rates keeping dropping between 7 and 9, latency isn't ideal in fixed frame mode although haven't had any problems with the B11 in production. One end is in congested 5ghz area so who knows if this is causing the rates to drop or not, Its over 42km and we haven't investigated it much yet but would of gone AF11Fx if it was available.

We also have many AF5x links up and have never had any Ethernet issues which ive seen people talk about.

I feel like I'm always having some issue with something of ubiquiti's. AF11FX isn't cheap. It's a huge amount to spend on something that might end up being flakey.

For example.
AF5X:
We've used CAT6
We've put ferrite chokes on the wires
We've used di-electric grease
We've re-terminated, re-routed, finessed, etc.
Their ports will still drop to 100Mbps

Finally, we did EVERYTHING to one radio and it seems to have solved it. A RocketPRISM simply doesn't have these issues, so why does an AF5X?

So will AF11FX have a brand new set of special circumstances to get a gigabit port working? Or will it be some new issue?

This only happens for me, if I'm not careful enough. I use TOUGHcable Carrier. Either Netonix or UBNT shielded connectors. A very good top quality crimp tool (like: http://www.pressmaster.se/product/mct_frame + http://www.pressmaster.se/product/mct_die79)
Too many uses a cheap tool, that does not press even on all 8 pins...

There is absolutely no reason to take exotic means to crimp an RJ45 end on CAT5e/6 wire. A $15 crimper will pass certification. Any device that doesn't accept ends that pass certification has a flaw.

AF5X requires ends and cable FAR above standards to function reliably. A cheap rocketAClite will plug in an sync gig and never lose it.
