CAT6 shielded ends?

Tue May 10, 2016 9:13 am

Guys, come to find out that the shielded ends don't work with CAT6 shielded cable like Shireen DC-2021. The strand sheathing is to big to fit in the channels. Anyone got a preferred RJ45 shielded end to work with CAT6?

I've been using Shireen's own RJ45s. https://www.shireeninc.com/osc/cat6-rj4 ... pack-of-50
However I still have trouble getting pinout 4 and 5 to go all the way in, and it requires me trimming back all the other pinouts after a couple times re-inserting the cable to the RJ45.

We use the EZ-RJ45 connectors for CAT5/6. Have seen a few issues where the insulation have been a little bit tight but it may be fixed on the newest connectors. Nice part of these is that the connectors allow the wire to pull all the way through the connector. It insures that you always have the correct wire in the correct spot on the connector. Not quite idiot proof but pretty close in my opinion.

It could also be that the Shireen cable has a slightly thicker insulation then most other manufactures and that is causing the issues. In checking the specs the Shireen does seem to be slightly thicker.
