Thanks Stephen for the new firmware.

It would be nice to include the download link on "Bug Reports and Comments" thread since editing the first message of "Download latest Firmware" wont show this last as unread.

That would avoid us to go search for the other thread each time we see a new "Bug Reports and Comments" thread.

Hi, I attempted an upgrade from firmware 1.5.6 to 1.5.8 on a WS-12-250-DC and received the following message:

"This switch is using a newer temperature sensor because the older one has become obsolete, thus it is not compatible with the firmware that you attempted to upgrade too. Please only attempt to perform an upgrade with firmware 1.5.3 or greater"

Any suggestions?

Hello makara,

Access the terminal for the switch via the web console, ssh, or serial console and run the following commands:

Code: Select all
cmd
rm /tmp/new_temp_sensor

Then attempt the upgrade again.
Let us know how that goes.

Hi Stephen,

That worked thanks.

Does that message mean my switch has an old temp sensor, or a new temp sensor?

Hey Stephen,

The download links need to be updated to include https instead of http. Latest Chrome update is blocking http downloads from https sites.

Upgraded from 1.5.6 running since February 2021 and everything went smooth (and no POE loss). Hats off to the team including beta testers for making this release happen. Thanks!
