Best way to keep log is to send it to an external log server like ELK or Graylog ;-)

Yes, and this works great, until the link that connects back to the server is the one with the problem. This is actually the specific issue I had recently, and while I could get someone out to power cycle the switch and restore service, I could not get anyone out there who could capture the log directly from the switch to find out why that specific port had stopped passing traffic.

Could we get a SNMP OID for overall FAN state like Good/Bad?
There is no way (that I could find) to enabled TFTP automatic backup from CLI only via web.

Is there any risk of upgrading firmware in a WS-26-500-DC from version 1.4.7 to the latest 1.5.15?
