Personally we feel this is the most stable and best firmware since v1.4.8. (THIS IS CHRIS, I THINK BEST EVER)
We have been testing this intensely for weeks.


***NOTE:
Some people use a smart power strip that will reboot a switch if pings stop.
This upgrade process can take longer than normal due to a lot of house
keeping from the vast changes in code. So if the unit is power cycled
during the upgrade it is bricked. Make sure to disable this or increase
time missing pings till reboot 10 minutes or more.


***NOTE (Smart DC Switches):
On the original 1.5.17 release, it was noted that certain DC models could get bricked.
It appears that during firmware ugprade, sometimes it will also upgrade the firmware on the power supply which was being blocked by a failed semaphore init. This could easily have been corruption on download or possibly upload. But we have also added additional checks in an attempt to circumvent this issue should it appear again.
HOWEVER,
especially for smart DC models. We suggest you upgrade one that is easy for you to access in case anything goes wrong FIRST. Then continue
rollout if all goes well.

- NTP enable/disable will now trigger update immediately - 1.5.23
- SSH Key length extended to 1000 characters to accommodate common algorithms - 1.5.23
- WebUI Sessions can now expire, but will remain open with the webui - 1.5.23
- Multicast Configuration bug fix, this is potentially responsible for spontaneous issue's that have been reported with SFP's, PPPoE, OSPF, etc but due to testing complexity we cannot be certain, please let us know if you see any improvements if you have been experiencing these problems - 1.5.23

ENHANCEMENTS
- UI works faster as it is binary verses PHP - 1.5.17

KNOWN ISSUES
- WEB UI issues when not at 100% Zoom on browser especially on VLAN TAB
- Some language templates need help

Come on guys, Stephen basically worked 7 days a week on this for over 3 months. I did a "little" too but I'm an owner so that don't count.

This hacker shit cost us at least $125K when you factor in everyone's pay over this time that touched this project. But in the end, we ended up with a MUCH BETTER MORE STABLE FIRMWARE.

We had to get this stable before finishing the NEW WS3-E switches which were supposed to be out in October/November now looking at end of February "if" he works just as hard for 2+ more months.

If you have a valid issue report it but if you have good results, PLEASE take 5 minutes and leave some feedback. Not only does it allow us to move forward but I am sure Stephen would feel appreciated.

For those who have been actively testing and working with us I would like to say THANK YOU VERY MUCH you are greatly appreciated.

So this is not a bug report it is an untested observation.

Upgraded my problem unit to 1.5.23, BFD/OSPF still stuck in Init. No change when I disabled and enabled multicast on the ports.

Seems strange as some have no issue with PPPoE and a few do. Just told stephen we will have to arrange a time when we all 4 have access to said switch. We can use 3 way call but prefer SKYPE (I am old school) and RADMIN which you will have to install on your workstation.

If this is HEAVY production switch we will do best to work on in off hours like 2-3 AM. A light loaded switch that could be done at easier hours would be better.

If this involves SFP modules I would like you to acquire 2 "Cisco Genuine" SFP modules to be able to swap out, I know they are $$$ but will provide a base line we need.

Again, some people claim it works others have issues.

So Stephen tested with mail server he install on one of his linux machines.

I asked him to test with commercial platforms like GMAIL, YAHOO...

If it works I asked him to make post on proper setup if broken then fix it.

But I told him to take rest of weekend off and do something with his family for a change. He really has been at this almost 7 days a weeks for 3 months.

When filling in the From Address field, if not doing so already, please try using just the domain in the From Address input.
