PoE Ports

Hi,

We have twelve WISP WS-26-400-IDC switches running firmware version 1.5.8 running in 12 different locations and we have configured PoE for up to eight ethernet powered cameras but on about half of these switches, the total power usage involved is greater than the wattage of the switch for example one or our switches has 400W total power but when the ethernet cameras are plugged in the total power usage is 464W (64W greater than what the switch can supposably handle), the remainder only use about 70W depending on how many cameras are plugged in via PoE. Each of the first 8 ports is set up as 48V PoE and 0.75A but each port on the overpowered switches is using around 54-55W per camera whereas the other switches which are using around 70W are only using around 5-6W per camera with the exact same PoE and system configuration (apart from the IP addresses to access them)

What could be a possible cause of the switches that are causing the ethernet cameras to draw more power from the switch than the total maximum value of 400W?

Do the cameras purport to draw more power than they should or did you just overload the switch? If the reported draw on a port is implausible then it could be that the current sensor is damaged and therefor misreporting.

I don't believe we are overloading the switches as they all have the same configuration. Ports 1-8 are the ones in question (in snip below, one is 1G and rest are 100M).
