Dave, how do you reconcile the math? Why would the 25 volt rail report 167W if the 24V radios only total 30W? Where is the other 137W going?

Sorry my bad, the switch is pullling a total of 167w, not just the 24v channel. Why I wrote 25v after the 167w was to mean the switch was running off a 24v battery (it draws about 167w and the input voltage is 25v)... it was also about 1am in the morning and I was a wee bit tired!!!

I've just read this thread and I want to doubly confirm the following:
- the 24V supply on older units is capped at ~106W unless a hardware mod is performed
- the 48V supply on all units is capable of supplying the full wattage

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

you had me worried a bit there, we have a tower that we want to get a bit more organised in the next few months, we want to put 8 x AF-5X's on the top, and use the AF-MPX8 Scalable airFiber MIMO Multiplex ( it houses 4 x AF-5X's ) , one of these AF-MPX8's will be facing West, and the other facing East

the AF-5X poe says 24v 1w - and eight of them are going to consume a bit more than 160 watts - maybe up to 190w or so

@Dave - so thank you for pointing that out Dave "I just re-read you post..that is way to much power on the 25 volt rail...you will have issues for sure.....167 watts steady state is pushing it, because it will peak well beyond that"

so doing this mod and increasing it to 160w is not gonna hack it - bugger - well not for 8 x AF-5X's

OK then - we will have to use two WS-12's and not bother with the increase to 160w, as we have already done the Ground Mod back in 2017 :-)

In Q1 2017 we modified the design for all new boards being made to increase the rating to about 160+/- watts to better handle newer radio power requirements.

The good news is the modification to increase this capacity is easy to do yourself if your good with a soldering iron or you can RMA your unit and we will modify it for you and add all the other newer hardware MODs and fully test it out for a reasonable fee.

In the picture below you can see all you need to do is "carefully" solder a small wire between two parts.

Another way to tell is if you look at the board's "white stenciling", not the white rectangular box Labeled "CFG" which refers to the firmware configuration to be used, if the white Stenciling says Board Rev G it may already have the MOD done as we had the SMT shop start doing the modification mid production run. If it says Rev H or Rev I then your good. If it is Rev G or below you need the MOD if it is not already on the board as pictured above. The important thing is to take a 24AWG wire from the one side of the R100 resistor "as shown in the picture below" to any DC negative source which many of the old board Revs have a GND Testpoint right there near the R100 resistor.

Unit "Board Rev F" Needs modification

I have an unexpected restart of the complete interrupt without power failure
I think it is because of the limitation of 24V
please confirm
